🐾🩷🐾 HAPPY TAILS - GRACE 🐾🩷🐾 Grace is the sweetheart momcat we rescued along with her surrogate litter a few months ago. She originally was at a Central Valley shelter with her own litter. A rescue stepped up to save the kittens, but sadly left Grace behind. The shelter then placed a neonate litter with her to feed and Grace loved and raised them as her own. Recently she was adopted by the most loving family and Grace acclimated so quickly to her new home, so quickly we could have made the announcement the day she was adopted! To say that her new family adores her is an understatement. We are so happy for this darling girl 🖤 Grace’s Umbrella Academy kittens are still available to adopt. Diego, Vanya, Luther, Allison, and Klaus are all just as sweet and charming as their surrogate mama. 💕🐱🐾🐱🐾🐱🐾🐱🐾🐱💕 Just another day in the life of an AARF volunteer… Two nights ago, we got an urgent call about a very pregnant feral cat from a local colony, who had found herself in quite the predicament—stuck in a planter! The caller, along with some helpful neighbors, had tried their best to free her, but without success. That’s when our incredible team of AARF volunteers sprang into action. Three of our AARF volunteers immediately went out to see if they could help. After some careful maneuvering, they were able to safely net the cat and get her securely into a carrier. One of our volunteers took the cat home, gave the mama-to-be some food, and gently covered her crate to help her feel safe and calm. It worked! Feeling secure, she delivered four beautiful kittens during the night. Mama and her tiny newborns were taken to the shelter first thing in the morning. Little did we know, she was still in labor and she gave birth to another baby there, but sadly, the baby did not survive. Mama cat will stay with her kittens for the next few weeks until they’re ready for adoption. Afterward, this resilient mama will be TNR’d (Trap-Neuter-Return) and returned to her colony where she can live out her days without the risk of more litters. The kittens will be available for adoption once they are old enough and have completed their medical. We have some absolutely wonderful kitties that have a lot to offer but need patient homes. 🐾🩵🐾 HAPPY TAILS - DAPHNE & SCOOBY 🐾🩷🐾 Raised since they were itty bitty newborns, Daphne and Scooby came to us from a local shelter when they were just a few days old and their umbilicals still attached. Adorable sweethearts from a Manx litter, Scooby has a full tail, while Daphne has the cutest corkscrew “stumpy” tail. They recently found their forever home with a lovely new family and a kiddo to grow up with. We are so excited for everyone and wish them all the best. Happy life, Daphne and Scooby! Most of our kitties we save are from euthanasia at shelters both locally and surrounding areas, as well as found orphaned, sick or abandoned right here in our own community. They were so happy and confident to check everything out and join a big brother kitty. We know Sydney and London will fill their home with so much love and all the snuggles their new family has hoped for. Sydney and London were rescued a few months ago with their siblings and mom cat Phoebe. Phoebe recently found her forever home, but Paris and Berlin are still available. 🐾🩵🐾 HAPPY TAILS - KOLOHE & KAIPO 🐾🩷🐾 Kolohe and Kaipo are from our Hawaiian Litter of four that were discovered in a local colony at just 7 weeks old. When the trapper discovered the shelter’s plans to TNR, she reached out to us for help. We couldn’t bear the idea of these little ones being released either, so we pulled them into our rescue. Kaipo and Kolohe quickly found their forever home together and their new parents just gush when talking about how much they absolutely love and adore them. They are two of the sweetest babies and now they have the sweetest parents too! 🩵🩷 Their darling siblings Kahuna and Kalani are still available and are ready to say aloha to their forever home too! 💔 SADIE 💔 It is with a very heavy heart that we share the sad news of our sweet Sadie's passing. We rescued Sadie in June 2020, after she had been passed from person to person—a heartbreaking journey for such a precious girl. We believe she had been used for breeding, and when she was no longer deemed "useful," she was discarded. She was only seven years old. Sadie had her quirks—affectionately known as our “spicy” girl. She spent a couple of years in a loving foster home, but as her health declined, it became clear she needed a quieter environment. Her foster family adored her, but with a bustling household and other pets, we decided to move her to one of our founder’s homes, where she could have the peace and care she needed. She was diagnosed with a collapsed trachea and had difficulty breathing, but once on the right medications, her condition improved, and we knew she deserved a forever home 💗 We are incredibly grateful to Jacqui and John, longtime adopters and fosters, who welcomed Sadie into their lives. For the last 18 months, Sadie was showered with love, basking in the sun, ruling the house, and most of all, snuggling with her mom. She was still “spicy,” and that only made her more endearing, they loved her unconditionally. Sadly, on one of their regular morning strolls, Sadie collapsed and passed away. Her precious little heart simply gave out. Rest in peace, sweet Sadie girl. You were so special, and you will always be remembered 💔🌈💔

🐾🩵🐾 HAPPY TAILS - CANDY BAR BABIES🐾💗🐾 These darling puppies have been settling into their forever homes for a little over a month, and we couldn’t be happier for them and their new families! HENRY is thriving in his new home with his mom, Gina. He’s made plenty of furry friends in the neighborhood, but his favorite playdates are with Indie, who was recently adopted by Gina’s son and his wife, who live nearby. Since Henry and Indie were fostered together, their reunion was extra special when Henry moved to the neighborhood. ROLO, now named Brodie, has stolen the hearts of his new family—Jason, Petra, and their two boys. Senior fur sibling Pugsy, who is somewhat blind and normally a little grumpy, has become quite attached to Brodie; dad says he’s a fan. The family enjoys beach outings and hanging out with friends, and Brodie fits right in, mastering the art of relaxing with the crew! HEATH, now called Archie, is living the good life with the wonderful West family. With two teenage brothers who adore him, it’s likely he’s already made his way onto one or both of their beds! This active family enjoys hiking and staying busy, and Archie is loving every moment of joining them on their adventures. SNICKERS, now named Ellie, has joined the Pachaco family, where there’s never a dull moment. Her new pup siblings, Mylo and Neena, are showing her the ropes, and they’re having a blast playing together. Ellie’s days are filled with play, followed by well-deserved naps. The family recently went on their first camping trip with Ellie, and she did great! We’re thrilled for these puppies and their wonderful families and can’t wait to receive more updates and photos! As for Mama Muffin, who lovingly cared for this little family, she’s still searching for her forever home. 🐾🛟 SURVIVAL STORIES - HAZEL 🛟🐾 Meet Hazel, our newest medical intake. Found in the community and brought to the shelter, this tiny one-month old had massive eye ulcerations and an upper respiratory infection. She was so scared since she couldn’t see any of her surroundings at the shelter, and resisted examination, so they felt she was too feral to be able to be treated and would likely need humane euthanasia. We quickly went to shelter and scooped her into AARF since she’s just a baby and should get a chance to see if her eyesight could be saved and the hopes of a forever home, no matter what may happen with her eyes. There are of course forever homes for blind kitties too! She is now with our critical care foster and enjoys kisses her on the head and being held like a baby. She’s no longer afraid and is being very cooperative through all of her treatments. We’re hoping to be able to restore all, or at least some, of her eyesight and feeling very hopeful already. Little Hazel has a long road of treatments ahead of her, and if you would like to donate to her care, we would greatly appreciate it. We have multiple ways to donate at aarflove.org/donate. Thank you for your kindness towards our most vulnerable. It will be a while before sweet Hazel is ready for adoption and to assess if she’ll have some, or hopefully all of her eyesight return.
